Likewise, the appropriate battleground for white allies in the fight for racial justice is at the dinner table. It’s in whatever all-white spaces of work and church we inhabit; it’s against the boss who prefers our whiteness; it’s against our own comfort and privilege; it’s against ourselves. We aren’t soldiers in that fight, however, and we certainly aren’t saviors. We’re war bond salesmen, pitching our neighbors on investment, rightfully uncelebrated and unsung.
